The students arrived in 10 waves grouped into three periods. The first wave of Liberian students consisted of 31 students. The group was the antebellum and pioneering students. The second wave of Liberian students arrived between 1989 and 2010. They were 151 in number and pursued various disciplines. The 3rd and last group arrived between 1911 and 2018. They were 135 in number. They also studied different subjects, including pure sciences and humanities
